Every year I like to look and see which blog posts on Flavorful Journeys were most popular with readers. It’s a fun way to reflect and reminisce on my culinary adventures and travel experiences. Without further ado, here are Flavorful Journeys top 10 posts of 2015!

1. Sashimi Seaweed Cucumber Salad

Flavorful Journeys Popular Blog Posts of 2015

This sashimi seaweed cucumber salad is one of my weeknight favorites. Since everything is served raw, preparation is a breeze. The fresh fish, roe, and seaweed transport you to the sea, while the citrusy ponzu enlivens the salad by adding acidity to the dish.

3. Thai Chicken Satay

Grilled Thai Chicken Satay with Homemade Peanut Sauce

This Thai chicken satay is one of my favorite dishes! The marinade is filled with bold ingredients, pungent fish sauce, fragrant lemongrass, spicy red chilies, garlic, ginger, bitter turmeric, earthy cumin, coriander, salty soy sauce, sweet brown sugar and vegetable oil. This marinade results in big flavor and phenomenal tasting chicken. A must try!

4. Korean Style Tuna Tartare

Korean-Style Tuna Tartare

I love the texture and taste of raw tuna. It’s soft and creamy and pairs well with fresh avocado. The sweet and tangy ginger dressing unites the ingredients and the Korean red pepper flakes and chili oil provides a nice, subtle heat to the tuna tartare.

5. Danish Christmas Eve

6. Japanese Sweet-Simmered Vegetables

Japanese Sweet-Simmered Vegetables

This is Japanese comfort food at its finest! Japanese sweet-simmered vegetables is a hearty and nutritious dish, packed full of vegetables. The broth is sweet and savory, made with dashi (a stock made from bonito flakes and kombu), mirin (a sweet Japanese cooking wine), soy sauce, and sugar. This dish will warm you up in the dead of winter!

8. Eating at Alinea

Dining at Alinea First Course

Last July, I was lucky to celebrate my 28th birthday at Alinea. It’s a surreal dining experience that is imaginative, fun, and utterly delightful. If you get the chance to eat at Alinea, jump on it. It’s an adventure you won’t soon forget!

9. Coconut-Smothered Black-Eyed Peas
